We’re always thrilled to get a call from a bride telling us she’s getting married outdoors. What’s even better is when we’re told it’s a family property. Sarah and Matthew were married in Kirksville, Missouri on Sarah’s grandparents farm property. A place where she spent summer vacations and now her parents are taking over.
Surrounded by gorgeous wheat fields, the flower girls picked wildflowers from the garden to throw down the aisle before the ceremony. Sarah and Matthew were united in marriage standing near the white pergola that her father and grandfather built themselves. Sarah’s sister also designed and made the invitations and programs, which matched the colors of the wedding day. After the ceremony everyone enjoyed tea, lemonade and yard games handmade by grandpa!
To complete the wedding day theme the reception was held in the beautiful West Winery at Jackson Stables in Kirksville, Missouri.. For a touch of family continuity, the wedding cake top was from the brides parents wedding cake.
With the doors wide open on both sides of the barn and the June evening breeze blowing through, Nita and I confirmed…we love outdoor weddings!
